Every first Saturday in May, the citizens of Prague, Oklahoma, welcome people from around the world to join them in celebrating the rich Czech culture that played a vital role in the city’s founding. The Kolache Festival offers dance, song, food, crafts, a parade, carnival rides and royalty. The festival symbolizes the warmth and fellowship of the Bohemian people. We are proud of the heritage we celebrate and invite you to this wonderful celebration.

Visit our local businesses, eat your fill of Kolaches — our famous Czech dessert, a sweet roll with fruit center – and Klobasneks, and get to know our town and townspeople. Check out the Entertainment Grandstand located on Main Street at the City Park.  The Arts and Crafts Show is located in the city park along with the annual car, truck and bike show. The exciting carnival, the food booths, and the parade are just a few of the day’s highlights.  Make sure you stay for the Concerts, 2020 Royalty Crowning, and Street Dancing starting at 7:00 pm. You won’t want to miss the Chicken Dance — always a highlight of the evening. The day’s festivities will end with a beautiful firework show.

This year’s festival, “Praha to Prague” will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2020.

If you’re local talent in the area and interested in performing at the Kolache Festival, join us for a local Talent Show coming in February.  The top winners will get a chance to showcase their talents Kolache Day.  For details, please contact Darren Terrell at darrenterrell@me.com
